Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a full-time Outpatient Coder with strong ICD-10 and CPT coding experience to join our team. This role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to AAPC/AHIMA guidelines, and collaboration with physicians to ensure precise documentation and coding.

Qualifications

• Requires AHIMA and/or AAPC credentialing (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC).
• 2+ years of ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers experience.
• 2+ years in observation coding and related workflows.
• Proficient with Windows, Excel, and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10, CPT and modifiers for facility outpatient coding in line with official guidelines.
• Query physicians when appropriate to ensure accurate documentation and coding.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge per QM Manager and Coding/Quality leaders.
