Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Base Coding Certification plus two specialty credentials.
• 6+ years experience coding Evaluation and Management.
• Surgical specialty experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-CM/PCS & CPT coding systems and medical terminology.
• Remote work capability with HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign/verify CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Ensure timely charge review and claim creation while maintaining confidentiality.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to resolve coding issues and ensure documentation adequacy.
• Apply coding guidelines and payer policies to maintain compliance.
• Resolve coding edits and denials through work queues and research.
