Job summary

Qualifications

• Course in medical terminology demonstrated by transcripts from recognized institutions.
• Certification such as CCS or CPC; RHIT will be considered.
• At least 2 years of health care coding experience, CPT or ICD-10-CM.
• Ability to interact well with patients, physicians, and staff.
• Typing and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation and assign CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM codes.
• Code encounters from office visits, nursing homes, inpatient, ER and outpatient visits.
• Collaborate with clinicians and staff to ensure accurate coding.
