Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a qualified Medical Coder to join our team for 100% remote work. The role involves abstracting clinical information and assigning CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes from medical records to support professional fees, including outpatient E/M services and related procedures.

The ideal candidate has CPC certification, at least two years of coding experience and familiarity with EHR systems. High school diploma or GED required; reliable knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is

Qualifications

• Two years coding experience and/or equivalent education (AAPC course or Coding program).
• Ability to operate in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Experience with an electronic health record system preferred.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology/ Medical terminology required.
• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract billing for outpatient E/M codes, CPT-4, ICD-10-CM codes and modifiers.
• Research coding/billing issues and recommend appropriate coding methods.
• Analyze medical records to assess coding accuracy and potential abuse; collaborate with Coding/Charge/Audit analysts.
