Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Medical Coder to perform professional coding for CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The role collaborates with physicians and staff to maximize revenue, with training and a telecommute option available across the U.S.

The ideal candidate will have a CPC/CCS-P/CPC-A certification and at least 2+ years of physician-based coding experience, plus strong Microsoft Office and EPIC familiarity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Certifications CPC, CCS-P, or CPC-A are required.
• 2+ years of physician-based coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Code a variety of medical records using CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes for professional charges.
• Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software and electronic claims.
• Ensure codes are accurate and properly sequenced per regulations.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards in line with Revenue Operations metrics.
