Job summary

Raintree Systems, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist - Medical Claims for a fully remote role in the United States. You will manage multispecialty billing, pursue unpaid accounts, and submit claims with accurate supporting documentation.

The role requires attention to detail, good communication, and teamwork. You will handle claim status follow-ups, appeals, and adjustments while delivering timely statements and assisting patients with billing questions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in Medical Insurance Claims billing preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Google applications.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and identify trends.
• Must work well in a team yet able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accurate, compliant, timely billing and appropriate reimbursement for multispecialty services.
• Collect unpaid patient accounts with goals to be met, re-billing and posting payments.
• Prepare and re-submit clean claims electronically or by paper per payer guidelines.
• Analyze and correct first pass rejected claims for second pass submission.
• Research and follow up on claim status for assigned plans.
• Review and process claim appeals with required documentation.
• Recommend account adjustments and write-offs based on collectability.
• Identify billing problems and report trends to management.
• Generate and submit monthly patient balance statements.
• Answer patient questions about billing and payments.
