Job summary

Signature Performance, Inc. is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist for a remote, nationwide role.

You will review and submit medical claims, verify CPT/ICD-10 codes, and address billing inquiries to ensure compliant, timely reimbursements and accurate patient accounting. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of medical billing experience, knowledge of payer guidelines, and experience with EHR systems (Epic, Meditech, NextGen).

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS and payer submission standards.
• Proficient in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, NextGen.
• Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Review and process claims for services to ensure accurate billing to payers and patients.
• Verify accuracy of billing information, including CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and demographics.
• Submit primary and secondary claims electronically or on paper as required.
• Resolve claim rejections and errors by correcting and resubmitting promptly.
• Monitor unpaid or delayed claims and follow up as needed.
• Collaborate with coding, registration, and clinical teams to resolve billing issues.
• Generate claims and statements as dictated by scope.
• Respond to billing inquiries professionally and promptly.
• Stay current with billing regulations and HIPAA compliance.
• Meet department productivity, accuracy, and quality benchmarks.
