Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare billing practices, insurance processes, and medical terminology.
• Proficient in billing software and EHR systems (Epic, Meditech, NextGen).
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and process claims for services rendered to ensure accurate billing to payers and patients.
• Verify CPT/ICD-10 codes, modifiers, and patient demographics for accuracy.
• Submit primary and secondary claims electronically or on paper as required.
• Resolve rejections and errors by correcting and resubmitting promptly.
• Monitor unpaid or delayed claims and initiate follow-up or rebill as needed.
• Collaborate with coding, registration, and clinical teams to resolve issues.
• Generate claims and statements as dictated by scope.
• Respond to billing inquiries professionally and promptly.
• Stay current with billing regulations and HIPAA compliance.
• Meet department productivity, accuracy, and quality benchmarks.
