Job summary

Signature Performance, Inc. is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our remote team. You will prepare and submit medical claims to payers, verify CPT/ICD-10 coding, and resolve claim issues with accuracy and timeliness.

You should have 1–2 years of medical billing experience, proficiency with EHR systems (Epic/Meditech/NextGen), and a solid understanding of HIPAA obligations. The role supports ongoing revenue cycle processes and strives for compliant, efficient claims handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is preferred.
• 1–2 years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding and claim submission standards.
• Proficient with billing software and EHR systems (Epic, Meditech, NextGen).
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and HIPAA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Review and process claims for services billed to payers and patients.
• Verify CPT/ICD-10 coding, modifiers, and patient demographics.
• Submit primary and secondary claims electronically or on paper as required.
• Resolve claim rejections and resubmit promptly.
• Monitor unpaid or delayed claims and perform follow-up or rebills.
• Collaborate with coding, registration, and clinical teams to resolve issues.
• Generate claims and statements as needed.
• Respond to billing inquiries professionally and promptly.
• Stay current with billing regulations, payer requirements, and HIPAA compliance.
• Meet department productivity, accuracy, and quality benchmarks.
