Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing practices and insurance processes.
• Proficient with billing software and EHR systems (Epic, Meditech, NextGen).
• Understanding CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding and submission standards.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Review and process claims to ensure accurate billing.
• Verify billing information including CPT/ICD-10, modifiers, and demographics.
• Submit claims electronically or by paper as required.
• Resolve rejections by correcting and resubmitting promptly.
• Monitor unpaid or delayed claims and initiate follow-up.
• Collaborate with coding, registration, and clinical teams.
• Generate statements and respond to inquiries professionally.
• Stay current with billing regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
• Meet department productivity, accuracy, and quality benchmarks.
