Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist in California to manage claims submission, coding, and cost estimation. You will work with EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Meditech, PrognoCis) and coordinate with patients and payers to ensure timely reimbursement.

Required 2+ years in medical billing, CPC/CCS preferred, and strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS. Hybrid work option may be available depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in medical billing, coding and insurance follow-up.
• Experience with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding standards.
• Proficient with EHR/EMR systems (Epic/Meditech/PrognoCis).

Responsibilities

• Submit claims to insurers and government payers accurately.
• Code procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS.
• Generate cost estimates based on coverage and contracts.
• Review billing data in EHR/EMR before submission.
• Resolve discrepancies or denials and prepare appeals.
• Communicate with patients about billing and coverage.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims.
