University of Colorado Medicine is hiring a Medical Billing Accounts Receivable Coordinator. This role supports the AR Resolution team and can be performed 100% remotely. Out-of-state candidates will be considered.

Requires 1–2 years in medical billing, familiarity with CPT/ICD-10, and strong communication. Responsibilities include follow-up on unpaid claims, responding to carriers, pursuing reimbursement, and preparing appeals.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a fast-paced medical billing environment.
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding preferred.
• Strong communication and accuracy under high volume.

Responsabilités

• Follow up on unpaid or rejected insurance claims for assigned carriers and resolve account issues.
• Respond to inquiries from insurance carriers via phone, email or fax with high service levels.
• Pursue reimbursement from carriers by making calls and recording contacts in tracking systems.
• Review EOBs and take action per company guidelines.
• Prepare appeals to carriers when there are denials.
• Identify payer denials trends and inform leadership.
• Handle patient information in line with HIPAA guidelines.
• Navigate medical claim billing and EMR software; verify eligibility and codes as needed.
• Complete required reports and projects using Microsoft Excel.
