For People is a team of humans focused on improving government digital services for vulnerable populations. As a Medicaid Policy and Program Strategist, you will be the operational owner of how we engage with partners, gather insights, and support federal and state Medicaid programs. This is a 6-month independent contractor (1099) role, 100% remote within the United States.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of working in or with Medicaid programs at the state or federal level.
• Ability to build scalable, efficient workflows and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication with warmth and clarity.
• Diplomatic collaboration across diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Translate dense policy concepts into actionable guidance for teams.
• Collaborate across policy, product, and engineering to align goals with delivery.
• Manage state Medicaid partner support channels.
• Identify opportunities to improve federal programs supporting Medicaid data tools.
• Improve interactions with Medicaid partners for consistency and clarity.
• Coordinate with federal partners to keep cross-agency efforts aligned.
