Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in healthcare interacting with patients about hospital financial issues.
• Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments and denials.
• Knowledge of Health Insurance requirements; CPT codes or medical terminology exposure.
• Patient Access experience with managed care/insurance and Call Center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview uninsured/under-insured patients to determine Medicaid or Financial Assistance eligibility and assist with applications.
• Review referred patients for eligibility and coordinate the application process for submissions.
• Communicate with patients to obtain documents needed for the application.
• Update insurance information and ensure timely billing or adjustment posting after submission.
• Document all actions and communications in patient accounting systems.
