Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners in Midlothian, VA, is hiring for an on-site role that interviews uninsured/under-insured patients to determine Medicaid eligibility and facilitates the application process. You will support timely submissions and coordinate with insurance and billing teams while documenting all steps in patient accounting systems.

The role requires 1–2 years in healthcare, knowledge of revenue cycle, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in healthcare industry, interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues.
• Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments and denials.
• Knowledge of patient insurance processes for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification.
• Experience with call centers and managed care/insurance preferred.
• Must be inquisitive and open to innovation including AI to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Review referred uninsured/under-insured patients for program eligibility and coordinate the application process.
• Communicate with patients to obtain documents needed for the application.
• Follow submitted applications to determination and ensure timely billing or adjustments.
• Document actions and communications in patient accounting systems.
• Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and share with colleagues.
