Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer for a fully remote role. You will conceptualize, design, and develop advanced mechanical components and systems from your home office, collaborating with a virtual team to bring innovative engineering solutions to fruition.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and deep knowledge of 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor), GD&T, and manufacturing methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in mechanical design and product development.
• Experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks/CATIA/Inventor) and PDM/PLM.
• Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and GD&T.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for virtual collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using 3D CAD.
• Create drawings, specifications, and BOMs per standards.
• Perform analysis including tolerance stack-ups and basic stress/thermal analysis.
• Collaborate with remote cross-functional teams to drive projects.
• Participate in virtual design reviews and provide feedback.
• Research and propose innovative design solutions and manufacturing approaches.
