Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Mechanical R&D Engineer for fully remote work. You will drive research into next-generation mechanical systems, design and prototype concepts, and analyze results to shape the innovation pipeline.

You will collaborate with partners globally, conduct experiments, and contribute to IP development while staying ahead of trends in materials, robotics, and mechatronics.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in R&D focusing on innovative mechanical design.
• Experience with experimental design, data analysis, and prototyping.
• Strong background in advanced materials, robotics, or mechatronics.
• Ability to work independently and manage remote R&D projects.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and prototype novel mechanical systems and components for future products.
• Conduct rigorous research and experimentation to evaluate new materials, technologies, and design approaches.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and generate reports to inform R&D strategy.
• Collaborate with internal and external research partners via virtual platforms.
• Develop and maintain IP through patent applications and disclosures.
• Stay abreast of advancements in mechanical engineering and related fields to identify opportunities.
