Lunchbreak is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to apply CAD and manufacturing expertise to real-world AI-related projects. You will create and modify detailed CAD models and drawings, applying GD&T and production-ready practices in a remote setting.

You’ll collaborate with frontier robotics teams, translate concepts into manufacturable designs, and document decisions clearly while working independently from North America, Europe, or other remote locations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional mechanical design or CAD drafting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent education and experience.

Responsabilités

• Create and modify detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies using industry-standard CAD tools.
• Convert concepts, sketches, specifications, and legacy drawings into complete, production-ready CAD models and drawings.
• Prepare assembly drawings, detailed drawings, bills of materials, and supporting technical documentation.
• Apply GD&T, dimensioning, and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5 and perform tolerance reviews.
• Specify materials, finishes, coatings, and manufacturing notes to convey design intent.
• Review and improve existing drawings for clarity, fit, function, and manufacturability.
• Apply design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
• Document manufacturing processes and engineering concepts clearly.
