Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical BIM (Digital Design) Specialist to support mechanical engineering design and documentation through BIM coordination and drawings. You will work primarily remotely with occasional travel for client meetings and project milestones.

Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, mechanical drafting, and shop drawing development is required. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on global data center projects and ensure documentation meets client and BIM standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or higher education equivalency.
• Strong experience with Autodesk Revit and BIM/CAD tools.
• Experience with mechanical drafting, construction documentation, and shop drawings.
• Ability to develop mechanical plans, sections, schedules and details from engineering markups, redlines, and design direction.
• Experience with BIM model coordination, clash detection, and identification of interferences between building systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation and apply engineering direction to modeling tasks.
• Ability to work independently, manage deliverables, and collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mechanical BIM models and construction documentation using Autodesk Revit and related BIM/CAD tools.
• Prepare mechanical plans, sections, schedules, details from markups and design documents.
• Develop and review mechanical shop drawings and construction documents to support project execution.
• Coordinate BIM models with electrical, structural, architectural, and plumbing disciplines.
• Identify and resolve model clashes and constructability issues.
• Translate engineering design intent into accurate BIM models and drawings.
• Work independently on drafting tasks while collaborating with engineers to resolve questions.
• Maintain model accuracy and compliance with BIM standards and project requirements.
• Support teams through design and documentation updates.
