The successful candidate will have strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, mechanical drafting, and shop drawing development, with the ability to translate engineering markups and redlines into accurate, coordinated construction documents. This individual will work independently under the direction of mechanical engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to support project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain mechanical BIM models and construction documentation using Autodesk Revit and other applicable BIM/CAD software.
  • Prepare mechanical plans, sections, schedules, details, and related drawings based on engineering markups, redlines, design documents, and technical direction.
  • Develop and review mechanical shop drawings and detailed construction documents to support project execution.
  • Perform model coordination with other building disciplines, including electrical, structural, architectural, and plumbing systems.
  • Identify, document, and assist in resolving model clashes, interferences, and constructability issues.
  • Interpret engineering design intent and translate technical information into accurate, coordinated BIM models and drawings.
  • Work independently on assigned drafting and modeling tasks while collaborating with mechanical engineers and project team members to resolve technical questions.
  • Maintain model accuracy, drawing quality, and compliance with project standards, established BIM protocols, and documentation requirements.
  • Support project teams throughout the design and construction documentation process, incorporating revisions and updates as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience; associate’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or high school diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant experience; or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. An engineering degree is not required.
  • Strong experience with Autodesk Revit and BIM/CAD tools used for mechanical engineering design and building systems applications.
  • Experience with mechanical drafting, construction documentation, and shop drawings.
  • Ability to develop mechanical plans, sections, schedules and details from engineering markups, redlines, and design direction.
  • Experience with BIM model coordination, clash detection, and identification of interferences between building systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation and apply engineering direction to assigned modeling and drafting tasks.
  • Ability to work independently, manage assigned deliverables, and collaborate effectively with engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting data center, mission‑critical, or other technically complex building projects.
  • Experience working for a general contractor, mechanical contractor, or other construction‑focused organization.
  • Familiarity with construction sequencing, installation requirements, constructability reviews, and field coordination.
  • Experience coordinating mechanical systems within multidisciplinary BIM environments.
