Job summary

MCS Automation is hiring a Commissioning Engineer to lead on-site commissioning and troubleshooting of warehouse and parcel-conveyor systems, VFDs, and networked control interfaces. This role requires extensive travel and provides the opportunity to shape integration across multiple sites with Rockwell Allen-Bradley platforms.

You will work with distributed I/O, read electrical schematics, and ensure documentation accuracy while collaborating with electrical and mechanical teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in commissioning and troubleshooting PLC-based control systems, with Rockwell Allen‑Bradley platforms (ControlLogix/CompactLogix).
• Extensive experience with HMI/SCADA platforms (FactoryTalk, Aveva Edge, Ignition).
• Strong ability to read electrical schematics and track as-built changes.
• Willingness to travel extensively nationwide for commissioning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Commission and troubleshoot PLC-based material handling and conveyor control systems at customer sites.
• Validate I/O, perform system testing, and fine-tune configurations for performance.
• Commission and optimize Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for precise motor control.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial network switches to guarantee robust connectivity.
• Commission sortation systems to maximize throughput.
• Troubleshoot distributed I/O blocks and ensure reliable communication across system networks.
