Job summary

Avnet seeks a Marvell Applications Engineer to lead technical efforts for Marvell networking hardware, focusing on switches, PHYs, and processor SoCs. You will serve as a resident expert and provide hardware/software support to Avnet's customer base in a remote, work-from-home capacity.

You'll work with FAEs to architect optimum Marvell-based solutions, review schematics, and assist with code and board design issues. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with embedded system hardware (Network SOCs, switches, PHYs, SerDes, PCIe, XAUI, SGMII, DDR)
• Experience programming boot devices (IP/NAND) Flash, EEPROMs
• Working knowledge of peripherals (NAND/eMMC/SPI, SDIO, USB, I2C, SPI)
• Experience debugging with protocol analysers (Wireshark) and Ethernet testers (IXIA)
• Strong Ethernet networking background (TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, DHCP, ICMP)
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple customer problems
• Willingness to travel to customer sites

Responsibilities

• Understand Marvell networking components and how they are used
• Architect optimum Marvell-based device solutions for customers
• Collaborate with FAEs to provide hardware/software support
• Review schematics and assist with hardware debug
• Assist customers with feature implementation at API or platform level
• Act as liaison between Avnet FAEs and Marvell engineering
• Train FAEs and customers on Marvell products
