Job summary

American Express Global Travel (Amex GBT) seeks a Remote Traveler Consultant to book marine and corporate travel from home in the United States. You will advise on domestic and international trips across air, rail, and hotels, using Amadeus GDS and maintaining high service standards.

You’ll communicate via phone, chat, and email, acting as a trusted advisor to clients while aligning with travel policies. The role emphasizes accuracy, integrity, and collaborative teamwork to meet client goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in marine travel and understanding fares and ticketing rules for car, air, and hotel.
• Proactive client service with anticipation of needs and strong communication.
• Native GDS expertise (Amadeus) and ability to advise customers effectively.
• Professional written and verbal communication with meticulous attention to detail.
• Integrity and handling of personal traveler information with confidentiality.
• Strong understanding of the travel industry (marine/business/leisure travel or airline reservations).
• Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and independently.
• Teamwork and openness to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Advise and arrange travel for marine and corporate business customers.
• Arrange and book domestic and international travel in various complexities for air, road, rail, and accommodations.
• Use Amadeus Global Distribution System (GDS).
• Communicate effectively with customers over phone, chat, email, and back-office systems.
• Act as trusted advisor by offering travel expertise and selling additional services while adhering to policy.
• Work individually and as a team to meet goals and service metrics.
