Job summary

24-MAG is seeking experienced Manufacturing Design Engineers for remote, contract work focused on FreeCAD-based design for manufacturing. You will create, modify, and validate production-ready parts and assemblies, documenting decisions and ensuring quality across the design workflow.

Ideal candidates have strong GD&T knowledge, 3D modelling expertise, and a track record of producing manufacturing-ready CAD models.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years designing mechanical components for manufacturing environments.
• Strong expertise in FreeCAD or comparable parametric CAD platforms.
• Experience with advanced 3D modelling, assemblies, and engineering drawing generation.
• Practical exposure to sheet metal, CNC machining, plastics, and injection moulding.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical components.
• Develop and modify assemblies using FreeCAD or comparable parametric CAD software.
• Apply robust constraints, feature structures, and design intent.
• Maintain model stability and editability as requirements evolve.
• Translate written and technical requirements into accurate production-oriented geometry.
