Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Design Engineer for a remote role to contribute to an advanced mechanical design and manufacturing project. You will apply your engineering expertise to help improve real-world components and assemblies for AI systems.

You will use FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD platforms to create, document, review, and validate production-ready mechanical components and assemblies.

Qualifications

• Experience with FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD software.
• Ability to create production-ready CAD models and drawings.
• Understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and DFM best practices.
• Proven ability to document design decisions and technical notes.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed parametric 3D CAD models using FreeCAD or similar software.
• Develop engineering drawings with GD&T, tolerances, and stack-ups for manufacturing.
• Design components for CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, and injection molding.
• Perform CAD validation and quality reviews for production readiness.
• Prepare clear technical documentation and assembly instructions.
• Incorporate reviewer feedback to improve CAD models and drawings.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure manufacturability.
• Identify and resolve modeling and dimensional issues before production handoff.
