Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Manager, Payer Rules & Revenue Cycle Optimization to lead a three-person team and manage payer rule configurations across Brightree and InRule. You will drive payer contract readiness, policy updates, and operational controls to improve billing accuracy and cash collection.

You will work with Payer Relations, IT, and RCM teams to translate contracts into systems rules and to monitor denials and reimbursements, ensuring on-time execution across the revenue cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field preferred.
• 5+ years in healthcare revenue cycle, payer operations, reimbursement, or related areas.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervision of staff.
• Strong knowledge of payer contractual and billing requirements and system rule translation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of three FTEs; set priorities, allocate work, monitor quality and productivity.
• Oversee readiness for payer contracts and amendments, ensuring timely implementation.
• Translate payer contracts and billing guidelines into actionable system rules and SOPs.
• Maintain payer configurations in Brightree and InRule with coverage, modifiers, and eligibility.
• Coordinate with IT and vendors on tests, configurations, and change controls.
• Develop governance for intake, changes, and documentation; track implementation status.
