Qualifications

• Two years of healthcare experience in a clinical or business office setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology (ICD9, ICD10) and CPT codes.
• Experience verifying pre-certification and/or prior authorization with insurance.
• Ability to calculate and collect patient responsibility and copays.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pre-certification and prior authorization with insurance providers and internal teams.
• Review patient schedules to evaluate coverage criteria per payer guidelines.
• Verify active insurance benefits and communicate any exceptions to the team.
• Review treatment orders to identify required authorization or documentation.
• Communicate with Finance, Intake, UM teams and others via Teams, phone, email, and in person.
• Collaborate with outside entities to complete forms promptly and accurately.
• Comply with applicable Federal and State laws related to patient care, billing, and collections.
• Work overtime as needed and maintain orderly records and equipment.
