Job summary

American Oncology Network AON in Hawaii is seeking a Managed Care Coordinator to liaise between the Financial Counselor and the Utilization Management and Intake teams, coordinating managed care reviews, referrals, and streamlining communication of managed care components for patient services. Ensures insurance benefits are current in EMR and billing software while verifying coverage.

The role requires at least two years in healthcare, a high school diploma or GED, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior healthcare terminology knowledge.
• Experience verifying pre-certification and/or prior authorization with medical insurance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pre-certification and prior authorization with insurance companies and internal teams.
• Review patient treatment plans to evaluate coverage criteria per payer guidelines.
• Communicate with financial counselors, intake, and UM teams to ensure timely managed care processes.
• Ensure insurance benefits are accurate in EMR and billing software.
