Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking an experienced Make Ready Designer to support overhead pole design and joint-use projects for major utilities. The role focuses on applying NESC requirements, evaluating pole conditions, identifying required modifications, and producing construction-ready design packages.

Candidates should have 2+ years in make-ready or related electric distribution design, strong CAD/MicroStation skills, and the ability to work remotely within the United States.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in make-ready engineering or joint-use design, or electric power distribution design.
• Experience with pole design, NESC application, and construction-ready packages.
• Proficient CAD or MicroStation; familiarity with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass screenings; authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Complete make-ready and overhead pole design work orders to standard.
• Review field data, pole information, and attachment details for accuracy.
• Evaluate joint-use attachments, clearances, pole loading, and modifications.
• Develop construction-ready designs for pole replacements, transfers, and attachments.
• Apply NESC and client design criteria; support end-to-end design and permitting research.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve conflicts and ensure quality deliverables.
