Job summary

Brilliant Infotech Inc. is seeking an experienced Mainframe Systems Programmer to lead engineering, operations, and planning for our IBM z/OS environment.

This role focuses on performance, reliability, and scalability of critical infrastructure in a remote setting. You will serve as SME for IBM mainframe, install and tune z/OS, perform CICS administration, manage storage and DR testing, and collaborate with IT leadership on modernization (Linux and cloud readiness).

Qualifications

• 10+ years as a Mainframe Systems Programmer in large-scale environments.
• Expertise in IBM z/OS, CICS, storage/tape management, and mainframe hardware.
• Strong experience with system upgrades, disaster recovery (DR), and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with IDMS, security tools, and workload management.
• Proven ability to lead complex infrastructure projects and provide technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert for IBM mainframe and z/OS.
• Install, configure, and maintain z/OS and third-party tools (CA, BMC, Endevor, TopSecret, etc.).
• Perform CICS administration, system tuning, and capacity planning.
• Manage mainframe storage, tape systems, and DR planning/testing.
• Support system upgrades, patches, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with IT leadership on modernization initiatives (Linux, cloud readiness).
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices across mainframe systems.
