Job summary

TalentAmp is hiring experienced Mainframe Systems Programmers to support IBM Z environments in a remote U.S. setting. The role emphasizes hands-on work with z/OS, z/Linux, and z/VM, and requires strong troubleshooting and system automation skills.

Qualifications

Senior: 8+ years of relevant Mainframe Systems Programming experience with strong upgrades, migrations, performance, and complex production issue work.
Mid-Level: 3–6+ years of relevant Mainframe experience with hands-on z/OS administration and production support.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot z/OS environments.
Support zLinux and/or z/VM environments where applicable.
Perform SMP/E maintenance, system upgrades, migrations, and IPLs.
Troubleshoot production issues, analyze system logs/dumps, and perform root-cause analysis.
Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and resource utilization.
Develop automation using JCL, REXX, CLIST, or scripting.
Support disaster recovery, production changes, and on-call activities.
Collaborate with storage, network, security, database, and application teams.
Maintain technical documentation and operating procedures.
