Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Mainframe Workload Automation Specialist for a remote role within the Core Technology Data Center. You will monitor batch schedules with CA ESP, resolve incidents, and optimize scheduling processes.

This role includes on-call coverage every third week and collaboration with IT teams to maintain system reliability. Qualifications include experience with CA ESP/CA View, Mainframe z/OS, JCL, and scripting (REXX/CLIST).

Qualifications

• Experience with CA ESP and CA View/Deliver workload automation on mainframes.
• Knowledge of Mainframe z/OS and JCL is required.
• Automation experience using scripting languages such as REXX/CLIST/JCL scripting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage daily mainframe job schedules using CA ESP to ensure timely batch processing.
• Respond to user problems and system alerts with effective resolutions.
• Analyze workflows to automate repetitive mainframe tasks and optimize scheduling.
• Write and maintain clear documentation for procedures and rerun instructions.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for 24/7 coverage.
