Job summary
Tata Consultancy Services seeks a Mainframe Operations Specialist to monitor daily batch jobs and online transactions, analyze and resolve production incidents, and support on-call deployments. You will handle job restarts, abends, and RCA reporting while coordinating with infrastructure, application, and business teams to ensure smooth production runs.
Candidates should be proficient in IBM z/OS, JCL, COBOL, CICS, RACF, and familiar with CA7/Control-M scheduling; experience with monitoring
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS components and mainframe subsystems.
- Experience with batch scheduling, job control, and operator tools.
- Proficient in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and RACF security concepts.
- Familiar with DB2 and SQL within mainframe environments.
- Ability to analyze production incidents and perform RCA.
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily batch jobs and online transactions.
- Analyze and resolve production incidents.
- Support Severity 1 and 2 incidents.
- Perform job restarts and reruns.
- Analyze abends and failures.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, application, and business teams.
- Provide on-call support.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis and prepare incident reports.
- Support releases and production deployments.
