Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Mainframe and SRE Architect to remotely lead SRE frameworks for mainframe and AWS hybrid platforms. You will design scalable cloud architectures, optimize performance, and drive automation with CI/CD, IaC, and security practices across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
• Rocket LCM & RACF security administration expertise.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and cloud monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement SRE frameworks for mainframe and AWS hybrid cloud platforms.
• Design AWS cloud architectures for high availability, scalability, DR, and fault tolerance.
• Lead mainframe performance engineering and MIPS optimization using SMF data.
• Optimize COBOL/DB2/CICS to reduce CPU usage and improve performance.
• Build and manage YAML-based CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
• Implement IaC with Terraform and Ansible to standardize environments.
• Manage Rocket LCM for automated deployments and release governance.
• Administer RACF security configurations including access control.
• Integrate Kafka with AWS services and .NET enterprise apps.
• Enable DevOps and DevSecOps with security scanning and policy automation.
• Implement monitoring/observability with CloudWatch, Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana.
• Perform capacity planning, workload scheduling, and forecasting.
• Collaborate with cloud architects, DevOps, security, and application teams.
• Support cloud transformation programs and enterprise modernization.
