Job summary
Cognizant seeks an experienced Mainframe Developer to support core banking applications across Deposits, Loans, Customer/Account Management, General Ledger, and Tax systems. You will design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain COBOL-based mainframe solutions, analyze requirements, and translate them into effective production code.
This remote-friendly role offers flexible work arrangements within the United States; sponsorship is not provided.
Qualifications
- 5+ years hands-on Mainframe development in COBOL/JCL/VSAM and batch processing environments.
- Strong experience in Core Banking applications including Deposits, Loans, Customer/Account Management, General Ledger and Tax systems.
- Experience with mainframe development and support tools such as Endevor, Xpediter, and Easytrieve; knowledge of CICS/IMS preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe applications supporting core banking operations.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into mainframe solutions.
- Develop and support batch processing jobs using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and other mainframe technologies.
