Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a skilled M204 database administrator to manage and secure IBM z/OS mainframe databases in a fully remote US role. You will configure, tune, and maintain the system to ensure peak performance and reliability.

Collaborate with application, infrastructure and security teams to implement enhancements, plan capacity, and govern access. Develop backup/recovery plans and stay aligned with the company’s commitment to a diverse, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Administration, maintenance, performance tuning, security, backup/recovery, and DR support of Model 204 databases.
• Supports design, capacity planning, change management, problem resolution, and production operations ensuring database availability and performance.
• Collaborates with application, infrastructure, and security teams to implement database enhancements, manage access controls, and support mission-critical business applications.
• Experience with M204 utilities: FAST/REORG, SOFTSPY, SIRSCAN, Horizon, MQ/204.

Responsibilities

• Optimize database systems by configuring, installing and maintaining M204 on IBM z/OS.
• Set security protocols and manage user access to protect data.
• Plan capacity and growth projections to ensure scalability.
• Coordinate database project plans with teams to align with goals.
• Propose and implement enhancements to improve performance and reliability.
• Develop backup and recovery plans to protect the system.
• Support end users and developers with database-related issues.
