Job summary

Guild Mortgage Company is seeking a Loss Mitigation Director to oversee the Loss Mitigation function, coach managers, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive department efficiency. This is a remote position, with a hybrid schedule in San Diego County during the first three months to support onboarding.

The role offers a targeted salary range of $94,000 to $135,000 annually, with compensation influenced by experience, location, and investor guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years in mortgage default, loss mitigation, and short sale, with at least five in a supervisory role.
• Expert knowledge of conventional and government mortgage loan documents, with regulatory familiarity (CFPB/FDCPA preferred).

Responsibilities

• Monitor operational performance to maximize productivity, efficiency, service, and compliance.
• Provide coaching, goal setting, and talent management for Loss Mitigation staff.
• Prepare budgets and manage department expenses monthly and yearly.
• Respond to investor, compliance, and account issues with transparency and risk awareness.
• Prepare for internal and external audits and address audit findings with remediation.
• Develop training on investor rules and compliance and implement improvements.
