American Family Insurance in Beaverton, OR area seeks a litigation support professional to assist attorneys in trial preparation, draft pleadings, discovery documents, motions, deposition summaries, and legal memorandums under close supervision. You will help organize medical records, conduct investigations, prepare discovery responses, and support witnesses and exhibits for trial, with relocation support for eligible candidates.

Remote in Portland, OR Metro area.

Qualificações

• Experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
• Experience performing legal research, investigations, gathering and summarizing medical records, indexing depositions, gathering evidence and preparing exhibits for trial, with minimal assistance.
• Experience preparing pleadings, motions, deposition summaries, discovery responses, and other legal correspondence with minimal assistance.
• Knowledge and understanding of insurance, legal ethics rules and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Experience with PC software applications, legal research tools and trial applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suites, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Acrobat, Westlaw and Trial Pad).
• Knowledge of tort and contract law, legal procedures, legal terminology, and the judicial system.

Responsabilidades

• Assist attorney in trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, discovery documents, motions, deposition summaries, abstracts, correspondence and legal memorandums under supervision.
• Aid in organizing, summarizing and evaluating medical records in discovery and for trial prep.
• Conduct investigation and discovery under limited supervision.
• Draft discovery responses and assist in preparation of witnesses and demonstrative evidence for trial.
• Assist attorney in complex depositions, hearings, trials and other settings as needed.
• Represent insured or company in small claims / conciliation court for defense or subrogation if applicable by jurisdiction.
• Review files to determine issues, records needed and possibility of settlement.
