Job summary

Orlans Law Group seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its Default Services team. You will manage a portfolio of mortgage default, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and creditors' rights matters, drafting pleadings, appearing at hearings, and advising clients.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license and good standing in Michigan, Maryland, Florida, the District of Columbia, or Massachusetts (multi-state licensure preferred).
• Minimum of five (5) years of litigation experience.
• Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication with clients, colleagues, and business partners.
• Collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to practicing law.
• No disciplinary actions by any state bar association within the past five years.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of default-related litigation matters.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal correspondence.
• Appear at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings.
• Develop litigation strategies and provide legal analysis and recommendations.
• Communicate with clients regarding case status, legal developments, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and operations teams to drive efficient and successful outcomes.
• Perform legal research and stay current on creditors' rights and mortgage default litigation developments.
