Mackin Talent is seeking a Linguist for a remote UK-based role until the end of 2026. The candidate will conduct linguistic analyses on large multilingual datasets and analyze AI outputs for error patterns and biases, while drafting guidelines for annotation and translation tasks.

Qualifications

• Must have PhD in Linguistics (completed).
• Proficient in Python and SQL for data analysis.
• Strong written and oral communication for business/research contexts.
• Deep knowledge of language typology, morphology, syntax, sociolinguistics.
• Experience with corpus linguistics or field work is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Perform linguistic analyses on large datasets.
• Analyze AI model outputs for error categories and frequencies.
• Draft guidelines for human annotation and AI projects, including translation tasks.
• Conduct typological and sociolinguistic research across many languages.
• Assess language bias and toxic language in multilingual settings.
• Review NLP-related literature and summarize findings.
• Compare vendor outputs, identify error patterns, and provide feedback.
• Advise engineers and researchers on linguistic issues.
