Remote Jobs seeks a Linguist to join a remote team. You will perform linguistic analyses on large multilingual datasets, assess AI outputs for errors, and draft guidelines for annotation and translation tasks.

You will conduct typological and sociolinguistic research, addressing bias, toxicity, and cultural considerations in global NLP projects. Must have near-native proficiency in a non-English language and in English, with strong Python/SQL data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• PhD in Linguistics or related field completed
• Strong typology, syntax, morphology, sociolinguistics knowledge
• Experience with NLP basics and corpus linguistics
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis

Responsibilities

• Perform linguistic analyses on large datasets
• Analyze AI model outputs for error categories
• Write and revise guidelines for human annotation tasks
• Conduct typological and sociolinguistic research across languages
• Assess multilingual AI outputs for toxicity, bias and cultural issues
• Summarize NLP-related literature and findings
• Provide actionable feedback on vendor deliveries
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to communicate results
• Engage native speakers for language data collection
