Job summary

Modern Catering is seeking Line Cook / Prep Cook team members to support high-volume kitchen operations at a remote mining camp in Northern Washington. You will prepare breakfast and dinner menus and assemble 100 grab-and-go lunch boxes daily in a mobile kitchen trailer.

This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and strict sanitation practices in a fast-paced environment. Housing and meals are provided during the 14-day rotation, with a competitive hourly wage and overtime.

Qualifications

• Prior commercial kitchen experience in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
• Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Food Worker Card required (or ability to obtain within 14 days of hire).
• Strong understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation practices.
• Physical stamina for standing, lifting, and moving food supplies throughout shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to set recipes and quality standards.
• Perform bulk food prep of proteins, vegetables, starches, sauces, and other components.
• Assemble components for 100 grab-and-go lunch boxes daily.
• Maintain clean, organized workstations; adhere to hygiene and food safety requirements.
• Assist with buffet setup, service, and kitchen cleanup.
• Restock ingredients and supplies, manage portion control, and help reduce waste.
• Follow safe food handling and sanitation protocols at all times.
