Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock is seeking an AVP, Life Insurance Operations to lead critical functions across life payments, policy changes, licensing, commissions and in-force policy administration.

You will champion digital transformation, drive straight-through processing, and manage a global onshore, offshore, and contingent workforce while strengthening controls and delivering on financial commitments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership overseeing large-scale operations or administrative functions.
• Proven success driving operational transformation, process automation, service excellence, and efficiency improvements.
• Deep understanding of financial services, regulatory and risk considerations in operations.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, with business case development and investments.
• Executive communication, influencing, negotiation and stakeholder alignment skills.

Responsibilities

• Set and execute the Life Inforce operations strategy in alignment with U.S. Operations leadership.
• Lead end-to-end transformation of customer and producer experience, integrating front- and back-office operations.
• Direct a global workforce of 150+ employees and contingent resources, fostering accountability and development.
• Drive operational excellence through metrics, BI, benchmarks, planning, and risk management.
• Partner across Operations, Distribution, Product, Shared Services to resolve cross-functional challenges.
• Oversee policy administration, vendors, controls, and regulatory alignment to ensure timely service.
