Job summary

Therapeutic Horizon Behavioral Health Center in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Therapist for full-time remote work. You will deliver individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based treatments with a trauma-informed, culturally competent approach.

Responsibilities include assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care. California licensure required and EHR proficiency expected.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, MFT, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Valid California license as LMFT/LPCC/LCSW.
• Knowledge of mental health conditions and cultural competence.
• Experience delivering individual and group therapy with inclusive approaches.
• Strong crisis intervention skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for diverse clients.
• Familiarity with documenting in EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct culturally sensitive mental health assessments and document findings.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans with evidence-based approaches.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions as needed.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and psychologists for coordinated care.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as required.
• Educate clients and families about mental health and community resources.
• Ensure confidentiality and ethical/ legal compliance in all interactions.
• Engage in cultural competency training and stay current with best practices.
