Job summary

Highland Behavioral Health Center in Sacramento offers a full-time remote Licensed Mental Health Therapist position focused on assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions to support individuals, couples, and families.

You will collaborate with psychiatrists and social workers, maintain HIPAA-compliant records, respond to crises, and participate in ongoing education to advance clinical practice.

Qualifications

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor credential (LMFT, LCSW, or LPC) is required.
• A Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Demonstrated clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, coupled with strong communication abilities.
• At least two years of related experience in a mental health setting is essential.
• Capacity to work autonomously with a self-motivated attitude, along with a collaborative spirit for team-based initiatives.
• Uphold high ethical standards and demonstrate integrity in all professional interactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments through virtual consultations to identify clients' mental health issues, formulating clinical diagnoses as necessary.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans by utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches suitable for each client's unique circumstances.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions, group therapy, and family therapy sessions, ensuring that each encounter is aligned with professional therapeutic standards and client needs.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for clients in acute situations, ensuring their safety and well-being while guiding them through effective coping strategies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential electronic record-keeping, including treatment documentation, progress updates, and client assessments, in adherence to HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare specialists to orchestrate comprehensive care plans and interventions.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health, available resources, and potential treatment options, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their mental health journey.
• Commit to ongoing professional development by attending workshops, training sessions, and continuing education to elevate therapeutic practices.
