Illinois Legal Aid Online (ILAO) is seeking a Legal Content Manager to oversee content publication and maintenance while leading the Content Intern and Fellow (CIF) program. This role emphasizes legal accuracy, plain language, and collaboration with product and community teams.

The position is primarily remote with periodic in-person meetings across Illinois, and candidates with experience in law, editorial work, and program management are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Requires a Law degree (J.D.) and Illinois bar admission.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant legal practice or related legal experience.
• Experience turning complex legal concepts into clear, actionable resources.
• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience teaching writing, public speaking, legal research, journalism, or editorial skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to work in a shared content environment with cross-team collaboration.
• Understanding of AI and technology to improve access to justice.

Responsibilities

• Publish and maintain content in designated legal areas following standards and review processes.
• Lead and manage the Content Intern and Fellow (CIF) Program.
• Collaborate with Product and Community Engagement Teams to improve delivery of legal information.
• Monitor legal changes and user feedback to prioritize updates.
• Supervise law students and provide constructive feedback on their work.
• Participate in staff meetings and organizational initiatives.
• Assist with fundraising activities and program evaluation.
