Job summary
Illinois Legal Aid Online (ILAO) is seeking a Legal Content Manager, Volunteer Programs, to lead the LCV program and oversee content development across Illinois legal topics. You will work with editors to maintain accuracy, clarity, and accessibility, while coordinating with product and community teams to improve how users find and understand legal information.
The role emphasizes independent and team collaboration, supervising students, and contributing to justice-focused initiatives.
Qualifications
- J.D. degree and Illinois bar admission.
- 2+ years of legal practice or related legal experience.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Experience recruiting, coordinating, or managing volunteers.
- Ability to work in a shared content environment with cross-team input.
- Spanish language proficiency preferred.
Responsibilities
- Publish and maintain content in designated legal areas, following standards and review processes.
- Research, draft, edit, and publish legal information; monitor law changes and feedback.
- Supervise the Legal Content Volunteer program and coordinate pro bono projects.
- Support meetings, organizational ARDEI activities, fundraising, and grant-related tasks.
- Collaborate with Product and Community Engagement Teams to improve access to justice.
