Job summary

Aprio is seeking a Manager, Legal | Claims & Litigation to oversee end-to-end claims management, provide paralegal support to the Office of General Counsel, and coordinate across practice groups. You will work with outside counsel, insurance reporting, and regulatory requirements to protect the firm’s exposure.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, investigative skills, and operational excellence in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Qualifications

• Certification or associate's degree in paralegal studies (bachelor's degree preferred).
• 5–7 years of experience in a paralegal role, preferably in a professional services, corporate legal, or risk management environment.
• Investigative mindset with strong research and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of legal database software, including matter management platforms (e.g., Legisway).
• Knowledge of litigation procedures, claims management processes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience in preparing legal reports, case summaries, and legal memoranda.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent matters across practice groups independently.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Familiarity with insurance reporting processes and third-party subpoena procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end claims management within the Professional Practice Group structure.
• Engage outside counsel and coordinate with partners on the claims process.
• Log and maintain matters in Legisway and track open legal matters.
• Coordinate communications among stakeholders and manage matter-related calls.
• Report to insurance carriers and ensure timely submission of claims.
• Schedule status calls for legal review with Chief Risk Officers.
• Maintain reports and track spending on claims for leadership updates.
• Identify risk areas and elevate to Chief Risk Officer.
• Manage litigation processes from intake through resolution.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and internal controls.
• Identify and address client service issues across practice groups.
• Issue litigation hold letters promptly and coordinate with counsel.
