AmTrust Financial Services seeks an experienced Complex Claim Specialist to handle complex professional liability claims, focusing on legal malpractice. You will evaluate coverage, assess risk transfer opportunities, and manage litigation with counsel to achieve favorable outcomes.

The role can be based in a claims office with potential remote work and requires travel for mediations and trials. A JD/CPCU/RPLU is preferred and 7+ years of professional liability claim experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in handling professional liability claims.
• High level of technical claim skills and legal knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to influence others without damaging relationships.
• Skillful negotiator with proven results.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• JD/CPCU/RPLU designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recognize exposures and ensure reserving is appropriate and timely.
• Evaluate coverage issues and risk transfer opportunities.
• Complete thorough independent investigations using available resources.
• Manage litigation with proper selection, planning, budgeting, and partnering with counsel.
• Exhibit strong negotiation skills to resolve claims.
• Communicate exposures effectively internally and externally.
• Formulate proper resolution strategy for best claim outcomes.
• Travel periodically for mediations, trials and related meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
