Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a remote telecom professional with deep legacy transport experience to support a large-scale site exit and consolidation program. You will remotely access a wide range of legacy network platforms to validate traffic, assess dependencies, and support the program’s evolution into circuit migration strategies.

This role requires hands-on experience with TDM, SONET, and DWDM, along with TL1 command usage and project coordination with NOC and field teams.

Qualifications

• 5-6+ years of telecom experience specifically in transport networks.
• Hands-on experience supporting legacy transport environments, including TDM, SONET, and DWDM.
• Practical experience with network inventory systems such as TIRKS (or equivalent legacy inventory tools).
• Working knowledge of TL1 commands and direct interaction with transport network elements.

Responsibilities

• Remotely log into network elements across multiple legacy transport platforms to confirm operational state and validate service-impact risk.
• Use TL1 commands and inventory tools to validate circuits, services, and dependencies.
• Identify devices with no active traffic to support safe shutdown sequencing and audit readiness.
• Trace circuits end-to-end to understand dependencies and reduce retirement risk.
• Support site exit and consolidation work, including identifying equipment and circuits for removal or migration.
• Contribute to migration strategies, including circuit redesign and planning for non-zero traffic decommission phases.
• Produce actionable outputs that guide execution across a large-scale program.
• Collaborate with network planning, operations, NOC, field technicians, and leadership to align sequencing and governance.
